It's very rare to get the combination of both sports and pop idols in anime, this was very enjoyable and for me it's hard to pick what's more better than the other from this and Shinepost... But in all it gets a decent 7.5/10 from me. Also I can't say anything about the Love Live series since I've never started to begin with.
Edit: *Me doing my Noah impersonation* Time for the last ep of pop idols the sports edition.
Also for Noah enjoy the naked foots shot at the beginning.
Man I just wish Seven Arcs could’ve given us more idol performances instead of sports/etc because they actually did really good with it!
Really like how they animated them dancing, it was well done. If only we could’ve gotten more of that though.
Indeed, and that's how you use CGI which was for the background only and use full 2D animation for the characters in a perfect mix.
As someone who's watched idol anime, I'm gonna be honest, this is underwhelming, heck, like the hockey idol anime PuraOre last year, this is yet another gimmick idol anime cashing off of Uma Musume's success.
And the girls, I'm sorry, I couldn't care less for any of them. They all look like extras in a SOL anime. I haven't seen the anime the show's creator Masaki Tsuzuki put out, IK he did Dog Doys, Vivid Strike, and Mahou Shoujo Lyrical Nanoha, but someone needs to tell this guy to get with the times, because this is EXTREMELY DATED. We're in a world of characters like Komi, Vivy, Kaguya-sama, Chisato, and others. Girls like what we got here ain't gonna cut it in 2022.
You need to f*ck off as someone who hasnt seen vivid strike or lyrical nanoha.
At least I was honest about that front, jesus, why go hard on me?
Even if I've seen neither show, I HAVE seen this type of storytelling before with this, and I've seen characters like those displayed here, and they're EXTREMELY DATED. This is what I expect from a moe anime from the mid to late 2000s.
Lol, I can imagine Noah getting nosebleeds over the naked foot shots.
He does all the time 😏
It's a wonder how he's still alive
Yep.
(nosebleeds) ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
The idol-bits in Shine-post are definitily of higher quality, but the combination with sports is definitily something studios should use more often.
But, to me, this anime had to spread itself a bit too thin over both the sports, idol bits & character/team issues & aims. It didn't trigger much of my emotional cords as a result, unlike Shinepost. Uma Musume did a better job combining sport & singing, where you get to perform if you manage to win.
True but Uma Musume was mainly focusing on the the horse racing sports aspects and the characters.
Yh uma musume was also really interesting(probably going to rewatch it soon)but this one too even though we have technically seen this type of sport and idol genre before it was still pretty interesting plus how they added some inazuma eleven special soccer effects lol (also hiyori js lowkey best girl and MVP in most of their matches especially in the last few episodes 👏👏)
Either way I give it a 7.5/10 too maybe pushing 8 cause I did like some of the characters and I won’t mind if it gets a season 2 we just have to wait and see
There lies my point. They should've chosen one over the other, so either the sport or the idol-part could be invested in.
Can we appreciate that Hiyori made it from the bottom to the top. Her rags to riches story. She started out as an indie singer who plays the (insert cute Yui K-On pronunciation) "Guei-tar" to being a full blown singing and dancing idol.
love the part when she cried
Rags to B!tches!!!...
She's surrounded by them!
such an Enjoyable show, Both sport and Music are good.
and Glad to hear Ozawa Ari voice again from Lise.
At this point Snow Wolf has basically joined RISE, and continue on as a sub-unit of the main group. :P
Maybe more of sister unit because they never join them (in match)
70% Athletes, 30% idols
7/10
I wish the robots had played a bigger role as the series went along. They were sort of tossed aside as new characters joined and by the end were just background decoration. :(
Other than Nono, of course, who is now officially the property of Hiyori. :P
22:32 - 72 monthly installments to buy Nono. XD
That's too much! You'll end up paying more of interests
Awwwww... I love tears of joy mid-performance, but the show must go on. This is a good show. Not mind blowing, but at least I didn't find anything that pissed me off (which is rare).
Rating: I give this show 7 glow sticks
Best Sport: Curling
Best Player Robots: Anatomically correct ones
Best Girl: Saki
Best Grill: George Foreman
Best Grilled: Fish
Grilled veggies are so good, though!
this is the episode that im waitin for
finally hiyorin breaks down and cry
another bonus seeing nono cries lol
6:04 & 17:45 = heavy-handed foreshadowing.
As usual, even yuri-bait has relationship chart potential: Sumika×Yukino (baseball batt-yuri [battery]), Saki×Kohinita, etc.
When will Yukino & Hiyori perform with instruments on big stage? Yukino can even do wagakki.
Nah sa-chan n sumi-chan belong to hiyori (seeing their interaction in first 3 episode), they only pick yukino n lisa to be offering to their mistress for the sake of her dream haha.
Actually, Hiyori found Yukino then Sumika realized she found her perfect battery partner. There's been interbonding within Rise so there are various pairings & threeways.
OK I'm no doctor but given the amount of pressure Hiyori put on her foot, combined with the Extreme gear that we know next to nothing on how it works, you're telling me she suffered no fractures? You're telling me no bone was messed up? You're telling me all she got was a sprain? Really? THAT IS BULLS***!!!
I stub my toe I'm done for the day, how was SHE able to even walk?! I doubt LeBron can even move forward if he suffered a foot injury, so this is ridiculous.
I played basketball during my whole adolescence, and I can tell you that if you're irresponsible, you can indeed get away with "only" an ankle sprain after that post-injury effort, especially in a teenager's body, whose lower joints don't need to support the 100+ kilograms of bone and muscle mass (mostly) that LeBron's body needs to. Sometimes It's easy to just walk through the injury and ignore the pain after a sprain... hell, the fact that you can do that means that the injury is not severe at that moment.
And thus, Hiyori was able to mostly walk through her injury, but the consequences from doing that in the form of massive inflammation during the following hours are unavoidable, and that's exactly what happened to her. It was just like in real life when you do that.
A sprained tendon can or cannot be a severe injury, depending on the extent of the damage to the tendon. I don't know why you think that the natural consequence of ignoring such injury would be a bone fracture, when instead it would be a completely ruptured tendon, which is an injury with the potential to end a career and that requires surgery to treat. That was what she was risking, and not a bone fracture (since it didn't happen from the start).
About the gear? Yeah, we know next to nothing, which also means that we don't know how much it weighs. About her recovery in 4 days? We know next to nothing about the treatments available in the anime's futuristic Japan, so yeah... I don't see what the problem is either.
And about stubbing your toe and being done for the day... that's only you talking about your level of pain tolerance. It's not the same for all people. I've stubbed my little toe a few times in my life, two of them resulting in hairline fractures... and guess what I did? I walked through it both times because there's not much else you can do about it, and I hate taking pain medication.
That said, the way they came back during the final match was indeed full of BS. You have them trailing by "below 30 points", and then you add the injury to the mix (which affected Hiyori's performance), and then you add May-Bee's second half revival run... And with that, you end up in a situation in which you actually need to skip how RISE ended up on top during the final minutes of the fourth quarter, which is what the anime did. It was just too much to surmount. It was shonen-level BS.
If Bell Cranel somehow comes back to life next Wednesday, it's going to be hard to decide whether that or RISE's comeback was the biggest piece of BS this anime season had to offer.
The individual BS-award would go to Bell Cranel, while the Team BS-award would go to RISE.
Yes?
That's completely normal.
I had even worse fall and didn't break anything either.
Heck, it was swollen and I still walked for the rest of the day.
Funny you mention LeBron, he himself played a LOT of matches with injured foot.
Like the other poster said, just because you are done after stubbing your toe doesn't mean everyone does, only that you are very pain intolerant.
Clearly it was just inflammation of the tendons... basically an ankle sprain. Adrenaline and medical ace wraps does wonders. In b4 Noah is suddenly picky about his anime BS.
Maybe if she were playing normally, OK, that's one thing. But we're factoring the Extreme Gear, one that the show hasn't even bothering what it is or how it works.
I highly doubt as much work as she's done that this would result in a mere ankle sprain, even without the gear. If anything that's just Hiyori being EXTREMELY lucky no further damage was done. And it shows that the people working on this have never played, let alone watched a basketball game.
Same tech as AoKana Grav Shoes?
AoKana?
Sorry, I haven't played the game so I couldn't really tell you.
AoKana is a (ero) VN about high tech sports which was adapted to anime & aired during Winter 2016 (but anime mostly focused on sports).
You didnt have a problem with the gear the 1st few episodes but now decide them dunking and doing physics breaking stuff unrealistic? Sheesh. Ate the whole plate of food and then tells the waiter, the food tasted bad. Thats you.
Just because I haven't mentioned then it doesn't mean I didn't have a problem.
For all you knew, I was probably saving my thoughts on it for my review.
May-Bees aren't badmouthing Raizu, they are the true rivals :D
Hiyorin's leg is okay, that's great.
Awwww, Snow Wolf are so precious :D
That lunch was so gorgeous!
Misuke, kek :D
But Snow Wolf really pretty much became a part of RISE :D
They even got their outfits coordinated with the rest, awww :D
Ofc Hiyorin would cry on the final stage, that couldn't not happen.
After the other girls mentioned it, I knew it was going to happen :D
It reminded me of Rikyako during one of the Sunshine concerts when she just couldn't play piano anymore and broke into tears.
NONO-CHAN IS BOUGHT!
This as a whole became such a sleeper hit.
I didn't expect it would be THAT great.
But damn, it really was.
All the characters, the sports.
Truly ultimate combo.
I really hope we get to see more.
The ending does give hope.
If we get a season 2 I hope Snow Wolf officially joins and plays sports as part of the group, because yeah, at this point they're basically already members and just perform as a sub-unit.
Extreme Hearts!!! Hope that many people can watch this gems so that there'll be the 2nd season!
Thankyou for my first idol anime!
don't forget to buy the merch or BD if we have the money so that can be realized.
*bought severals online to support some series when on sale because limited budgets...
saki will always love hiyori the most always stick by your wife saki chan haha
Time for one final round of Love Live Sports Edition!
